Inés Albarrán

Choreography, colour and smoke for artists and fragrance houses

Portrait of Mara Okonkwo

Inés Albarrán trained as a contemporary dancer in Madrid before she picked up a camera, and her films still start with the body. She works closely with choreographers, building each piece around a single physical idea and a strict palette of colour, light and smoke.

Her video for Wren Hollis, Hold the Light, won Best Direction at the Meridian Music Video Awards, and her fragrance film for Ostra, Ember, brought the same approach to commercials. She splits her year between Madrid and Los Angeles, and always rehearses on the set before the crew arrives.
