Branded documentaries that let real people and real work take the lead

Portrait of Mara Okonkwo

Samir Haddad directs branded documentaries and short non-fiction for companies that would rather show real people than tell a story about them. He looks for subjects whose work is worth watching on its own, then finds the brand a place at the edge of the frame.

Dust and Daylight, his film for Arbor about horse wranglers in central Anatolia, won Silver for Branded Content at The Vantage Awards and was an Official Selection at Saltmarsh Documentary Festival. Open Fire took the same approach to a restaurant kitchen. He is based in Los Angeles.
